As a Commissioner I am so proud to celebrate the hundreds of AmeriCorps members who came together virtually from all across Washington State came today to celebrate service and kick-off the new program year. I miss the in-person celebrations of the past, as pictured with all of us on the Capital Steps, but today was a virtual success thanks to the hard work of dedicated staff at Serve Washington. The ceremony included an alumni panel, networking break-outs, and a powerful keynote address by Breauna Dorelus of Connecting the Cause. Special thanks to Tray Deadwyler of Think for Good, Inc. and Aaron Carr and Paradigm Shift Seattle who facilitated impactful workshops encouraging youth to be the change we all want to see through service, love, respect, and genuine intent to make things better. #WeServeWA
